No can do. Plain and simple. I have tried it, and it just is not possible to use a Canadian credit card to purchase anything on Apple's US site. Once again, the affects of being Canadian...I hate it.

You must be able to - I was able to do so from New Zealand of all places. You do know that 'VISA' stands for Visa International Service Agency? It's a card that's designed to be used the world over.

Just trick the site by putting in your address details (the first 2 lines or so) but fake the state. I put in my street name and suburb but then just a random US city and State and all that the payment processor checked for was that the first 2 lines match the first 2 lines of my VISA account.

Worked like a charm for me

Recently, I was going to order a refurbished iPhone and have it sent to a friends US address (since I was going to be in the US for a week, and this is the only way to get refurbished iPhones). My backup plan, if delivery dates were too long, would be to use a post/parcel receiving service just south of the border from Vancouver as the US address and then pickup at a later date.

Anyway, I was not able to use my Canadian credit card for the US Online Apple Store (maybe because there is a Canada Online Apple Store). But the rep did inform me that I could prepare the order, and they will give me an order number. I would then need to mail them a money order or wire transfer the full payment. Once received, the package would be sent to a US address. This option would also be good for people who may not have a credit card, but still want to order online.

In the end, I'm glad I waited since I ended up purchasing a brand new iPhone from an Apple Store right after the price drop.

I purchased a refurbished iphone 2 weeks ago and had it shipped to a UPS store with a Canadian credit card.

It appears that they only validate with the CVV.

I've tried to purchase an iPhone online using Canadian info, but no luck. So I got fed up and drove down to Buffalo, New York today. Bought the 8GB iPhone, threw away the box and put the phone in my pocket. Did not declare it at customs and then headed to BongoWireless (in Markham) to get my phone HW unlocked for $150. I will be picking up my phone tomorrow at 3PM, hopefully everything goes well on their end.
