OK, so I found these two options on the Fido.ca site. How to understand this: One option (found under 3G browsing) is presenting this option:

"Surfing option":
12MB for $10

while on a Wireless Data page I found some data packages which don't quite make any sense given the above mentioned "Surfing Option":

"Internet Options":
25MB for $60

How come such weird pricing, if 12 MB goes for $10, then 25MB for $60 seems a total ripoff. Is it because the second option is geared at ppl connecting laptops to the EDGE network, hence the much increased cost for larger transmits? Or am I reading this a wrong way?

Also, would 12MB / months suffice for EDGE mail delivery (POP/IMAP) to the iPhone, assuming no attachments, etc? (And of course no web browsing at all and such.)

i believe u can get a 1gb data plan for $65

Theres also the unlimited for 4 months with the $18 value plan, and the $60-1GB retentions offer.

It says 4 months unlimited browsing only if you subscribe to a new 3-year monthly agreement. I am already on one, so would they still give me the 4 months???

Also, on the $65 - 1GB option, can you guys provide a link for that. Haven't seen it anywhere.

The $60 - 1GB plan is not on the Fido network, but with Rogers. The do not advertise this, you will have to call in and request it.

Be advised that they are getting wise that people are using it for iPhone data;; make sure you don't tell them that you are not tethering your phone to your laptop -- they don't want that.

The 1GB plan is meant for PC Data Cards on the EDGE network.

just dont mention it, aswell it seems that they are infact giving the 4 mo unlimited with the new $18 value pack (which is an awesome deal btw!) WITHOUT the 3 year term.
i added the value pack to my term free post paid and the CSR never mentioned it but my bill came with "4mo unlim surf" or something to that effect on it. called them up just to make sure i hadnt been put on a term and i havent. i also asked the CSR because all the ads say you must sign for a 3 year term and she said nope they are giving it to everyone that gets the new value pack right now.
