Default Can You post this as a sticky?

I (like many others) cannot express enough how much I appreciate the work of the Dev Team. And I don't think that their self satisfaction should be the only motive driving their work.
Therefore, I would suggest that the team should charge (Money) for any further unlocking for any new firmware.

So lets hear your voices other members of this forum.

Real hackers never sell their works, as that defeats the purposes of hacking in the first place.

However, donation is a different story.

You may have a point here, but the way I look at it is that every good work should be rewarded. In addition, many members have no access to donation.

Somewhat in different direction, I'd really like to see a system to reward people for writing the apps. Something where we could put requests and donate en masse money to people doing the job, for example, by donating 10c simultaneously to everyone whose apps are installed on my phone.

The rationale being, money are still a good indicator of people's needs and 10c*10000 ppl aren't bad revenue.

You can already donate to the dev team if you want to show some appreciation. I feel sorry for you though, for the fact that you can't comprehend the fact that some people do stuff just because they can. Not everything you do is motivated by money.

I would add "alone" to your last statement.

And I don't believe anyone should feel sorry for me (being realistic) , you should feel sorry for someone who is idealistic.

If you speak seriously, please note that the variant you suggested is impossible for many reasons:

    * Unlock either doesn't exist or is for everyone
    * It maybe illegal to unlock for money
    * Many people conributed to unlock, and it's impossible to split revenue
    * Current form of unlock is already available for free and cannot be retracted

As an alternative, encouraging people to donate might be a good way to show the value of the work of iDev team (personal example works good in these matters).

thanks for your contribution, your four points didn't mean anything to me, but again English is not my first language.

    Neither it is mine.

Well, assume somebody tries to sell sofware unlock for $100. The first person who buys it can give it to everyone for free (or for $1). So, how to make money on this?
    * It maybe illegal to unlock for money
As far as I know, DMCA says it's not a copyright infringement to unlock if you're doing it only to change the carrier of your handset. Getting money for doing this might be a different type of activity.
    * Many people conributed to unlock, and it's impossible to split revenue
How would you share money between team and not forgetting about all the people around forums with their ideas and testing
    * Current form of unlock is already available for free and cannot be retracted
This unlock is going to work at least until Apple changes firmware in new phones, that could be for a while, so who will pay money for a new one doing the same job? Then, the new unlock will likely use open source tools whose license prohibits commertial use. Note http://hackint0sh.org/forum/showthread.php?t=6067
Which is not a big deal, because some people like doing things for fun.
