Default Can I use an activated iPhone to unlock another iPhone for TMOBILE?

    Hey there everyone -

Seriously not trying to be 'lazy' or just plain 'dumb' here... but this site has grown so large that it's not all that easy to find what you're looking for (sometimes).

Here's my situation... I'm pretty confident that there are more than a 'few' other people in the same exact boat as me. So, I'm hoping to not only gain some great advice from ya'll... but also help the rest of us who are facing information 'overload'.

I bought two 8 gig iPhones straight from Apple. My wife was 'out of contract' so I just said 'screw it' and paid to activate her iPhone thru AT&T. I'm sure I'm not alone when I say... this didn't come down to a 'money issue'... I just wanted to prevent a few dozen headaches for myself... don't get me wrong.. my wife is great.. but far from being tech savvy. What I'll pay AT&T over the next two years is minor when I can just point her to AT&T Customer Service. I'd rather try to unlock mine... is it possible?

CAN I USE HER IPHONE IN SOME MANNER TO UNLOCK MY IPHONE SO THAT I CAN USE A TMOBILE SIM CARD? I HAVE A COUPLE ACTIVE SIM CARDS LYING AROUND THE HOUSE THAT I CAN USE FOR THE OTHER IPHONE (if someone would be so kind to show me 'how to do it')

Nope, doesn't work that way. The only available way to unlock your phone to work with a T-Mobile SIM card is using the hardware-hack-assisted unlock as described at http://iphonejtag.blogspot.com, or try to buy a TurboSim card (involves cutting up your T-Mobile card). There is also the supersim method, but that is in dubious legal territory. The dev team here is working towards a possible all-software unlock, but that could be ready tomorrow or 6 years from now. Another company, iphonesimfree.com claims they'll sell an all software unlock sometime this coming week, but it could be vaporware.
