Appologies if this has been asked before, did a search and couldnt find anything explaining my situation.

I don't have a Wifi connection on my computer (only wired internet). Can I do a software unlock? or do i need a new router.

An answer either way would be great.

It will be extremely difficult otherwise. Because you need to log onto the phone using ssh, so you need an IP for the phone. The phone can only get an IP if it is in a network. So you will either need to setup an Ad-hoc network with your PC, and in this case you will still need a wifi card on the PC.
