[CAMERA] Not working - Wont Take Pictures (button greyed out)
I'm having a problem with my Iphone 2g camera module.
It is pwnage tooled 2.25 jailbroken, and everything works sans camera. I open it, the shutter spreads and i get a black screen. The "take picture" button is greyed out (dim)
I have replaced the camera module already (bought a working one) and this did not fix the problem. It seems this problem is all over the internet, but I haven't seen any fixes for it.
PLEASE PLEASE help me find a solution so I can use my iphone camera.
Thanks in advance

Is there no solution found to this problem? I know when I search the internet I see many people with it, but never a solution given.

I searched as well and apparently it is a HARDWARE ISSUE. On the official Apple forums, a large amount of people suffered this with the early 2G and 1.X OS. They took their iPhone to an Apple store and Apple was able to fix it in a few weeks and send back it back repaired.
Since your iPhone is Jailbroken, it is technically voiding the warranty. You can perform a full restore on it, but I can not assure you that Apple will not find out about that because the JBing is performed with a hardware exploit.
It is a shame however that Apple did not tell their customers what was wrong with the "greyed"-out problem. They simply sent it back and apologized for the error. Not to mention full packaging boxes and even TAPE to send your loaned iPhone back in.

Jailbreak has nothing to do with hardware and a full restore will get your iphone in its original state. No warranty void.

Unfortunatly, my phone is well out of warranty so there really isnt much I can do I suppose.

I stand corrected.
But you may be able to service your iPhone for $. Talk to an Apple rep and they may help you out with it.
