the rumors i heard till now say the following:

- you can buy up to 5 iPhone in apple.uk online store, but you need a UK shipping adress

- you can buy up to 2 iPhones in local apple stores, and you can even pay cash

- no need to sign a contract, just bring it home and "play" with it

can anyone confirm this? has anyone managed to get a hold of more than 2 iPhones in the uk?

I told the guy I want to re-sell he advised buy 2 From o2 shop, buy 2 from carphonewarhouse opposite, 2 more from another o2 shop and so on.

you can bring it home to play with, no need to sign contract instore

I brought 2 Iphone's from a UK 02 shop in Birmingham 2 is the limit. They do not take cash and will only accept a Credit / Debit Card (No visa electron or Solo)

Brought 2 today from Carphone warehouse (that is their limit) I paid Cash.

Don't Know about the online store's.

Where i live i have probaly x10 Carphone Warehouse's x8 02 Shop's X3 Apple Shops. I live very centrally to 3 Major towns. SO i could easily get 20 Iphone's in the space of 2 hours (if they don't run a check on the debit card you are using)

That leaves only the "minor" inconvenience that UK iPhones cannot be SIM-unlocked currently

but they can be downgraded to 1.1.1 and unlocked, which is all i needed to know.

The question is, why would you want to buy more than a couple?

Unless you're going to unlock them and eBay them, which is now kinda pointless, seeing that when the unlock comes out, anyone will be able to go and buy one from Apple/O2/CPW and unlock it themselves and not pay any premium.

I'm not being funny buy why would you want to resell in the UK?

Are people seriously willing to pay more than the £275 price tag? (only way would be if you unlock them), otherwise Joe Bloggs can buy himself now.

You've been able to buy cheaper off ebay (with worldwide shipping) for over 3 months now.

not reselling them, but we just dont want to go there with a group of six or seven only to buy them. you would have to pay for transfer and all that. so its easier and cheaper just to send one over there. plus i would like to see the city which i have never been before.
