I want to buy an Iphone today from apple's online store.

Does anybody think that there is the possibility that it will come with the new firmware 1.1.1, thus preventing an unlock (in the short term at least)?

I need opinions!!! Quickly please.

In the case that it comes with 1.0.2 will I be able to unlock it at a time after the new firmware release?

I've heard/read that they're not shipping iPhone's with the new firmware till the 28th to coincide with the "official" release of the iPod Touch. I say official because I was in America this past weekend and Best Buy and Target had them for sale lol

Yeah, I was so bummed. I was only there for the weekend and everywhere was sold out. I have to wait till Friday to get one

Is it still safe? I guess this is going to have to be on a day by day basis. It would be nice to know that someone on someday (say current) bought one and it still had 1.0.2 until someone comes in and says Oooops I got the bad Apple!
