Hey guys, some reason all of a sudden my home button and sleep button will not make my phone wake up, as if they dont even work, but when i plug the iphone in via usb it seems to light up the screen. i tryed to just do a hard restart by holding the home and sleep button like 10 different times but no results. so basically the phones on and wont wake up with home, sleep, or the slider button.

anyone got any suggestions?

u could try a restore using itunes and then ull need to jailbreak it agn

Im pretty sure your Home Button and Sleep Button are fine...
The problem is that some iPhones have a problem that they simply dont wake up from sleep mode
The solution I found is pretty easy, you should try:
-Settings> Brightness> set Auto-Brightness Off
-Setting> General > set Auto-Lock Never

ok guys, so i finally got it to wake up, and i took your advice you gave me and turned off and ajusted a few settings. but for some reason when i press my ipod icon and try to open my ipod now its just going to a blank screen and closes after a few seconds anyone have a fix to this? and also when i try to restore on itunes it fails and says:

"The iPhone "iPhone" could not be restored. An unknown error occurred (-18)."

Version: 1.0.2 (1C28)


any help would be greatly appresheated.

Do you have 1.0.2 now?

Why don't you try to virginize your phone and upgrade to 1.1.1 or 1.1.2. There are many guides here which may help you in upgrading to 1.1.1 or 1.1.2. However, they are for phones unlocked with anything except IPSF.

hey guys, so i tryed what instructions you gave me, i downgraded my phone and this is where im currently at:

firmware: 03.14.08_G
version: 1.0.2 (1C28)

so i downgraded the baseband and virginized my phone, but for some reason now everytime i try to install 1.0.2 OR 1.1.1 again, it doesnt work and i get an error on itunes saying:

"An unknown error occurred (-18)"
and it doesnt upgrade.

i need to erase everything and start all over, but i cant upgrade! any advice?

never mind guys, i got it to work finally,

itunes wasnt being very friendly.
