[Broken screen] Need to get the contacts inside but i can't enter the passcode
I dropped my phone, causing a crack on the screen and now some of the numbers on the keypad won't work so I can't enter my passcode to open the phone.
I need to get the contacts off of the phone.
I've never synched it to my PC.
Now when I try to synch it, it says I must enter the passcode first.
Anything I can do to get the contacts?

I've never SSH'd before. How/Where should I start?

Are you reffering to the pin-code ?If so, take the sim out, borrow a friends phone and take away the pin-code in the settings. Then replace sim and start up...

By the way, how much force does it take to break the screen anyway ? Any pointers ?

Well, maybe you can tell how it has been unlocked? Does it connected to wifi? Can you connect to it with ibricker?

What if the friend's phone that I put my SIM card into doesn't have a passcode? Should I create one and then remove it, then put my sim card back into my original phone?
Or if they do have their own passcode on their phone, should I turn it off with my sim card in, and then put the sim card back in my phone?
BTW it took a lot of force to crack the screen and make the buttons not work. I didn't exactly just "drop" it.

And yes I'm referring to the code-lock that prevents people from using your phone.

This code-lock you are reffering to, is it to lock the sim-card ? If you put your simcard in another phone, it will ask for a code (PIN-Code). Once you get into this phone after typing your code, you go to settings, security, pin-code. Here you type choose to turn of pin-security. Then you are all set to put it back in the iphone...
