Bricked iPhone - iTunes won't detect it
Hi guys,
I'm usually a do-it-yourselfer. I read up on the forums and Google is my friend. I think I'm kinda screwed.
I think I have a bricked iPhone and can't seem to restore it. I have read the forums and everything seems to point me to go into DFU mode to restore old firmware... but the catch is that iTunes won't detect my iPhone and Windows XP gives me a "usb device not recognized" error.
Thoughts?
Thanks,
Jeff

I tried it on 2 computers already.
I'll try it on a 3rd but I'm pretty sure that's not it.
My iPod works on my computer, the iPhone doesn't.

then maybe some hardware issue is causing this error....

I thought I bricked mine too, it was stuck on a black screen after i jailbroke it; And then iTunes wouldn't detect it when i plugged it in either. Are you sure you put it into DFU mode correctly? While i had it plugged in, I put it into DFU mode, and then my iTunes detected it. And I'm restoring at the moment. good luck
