Both Wifi and EDGE is on, which gets priority?
Hi all,
I have the TMobile Total Internet plan, in my office and at home, I also have the wifi on... My question is which gets the priority? I believe that the wifi is faster, but I don't know if it ever gets to work when EDGE is also running.
Thanks,
Kenny.

the phone should always use wifi if it is connected to one. what ever icon you see next to your carrier logo is what the phone will use. E then it will use edge, the wifi logo then it will use the wifi.

Thanks John... i'm glad that wifi gets the priority as T-Mobile EDGE seems pretty slow for me...

One of the great features of the iPhone over most other phones I've used is that it readily hops on to an available WiFi access point, thus saving data charges for those who pay for EDGE on a per-MB basis.
By default, the iPhone will only join "known" WiFi networks, but you can choose whether or not the iPhone prompts you to join unknown WiFi networks under the WiFi settings as well. In a busy urban area, you could probably almost avoid using EDGE altogether.
