Bootneuter tells me
Bootloader is 3.9
neuter is on
fakeblank is off
unlock is on
Does this indicate the guy i got the phone from used ziphone? Is there something I can do to stop playing Russian roulette with my phone? I have restored using winpwn. Back to BL though should I just flip the switch and hit flash? Or what? Where can I read about using bootneuter?
Thanks so much

I know it does not have GPS, so I figure it finds itself based on Radio Base Stations location information... But again, that only with bl 4.6....
That is exactly what I wanted to know. Thank you!
Is this true?
I am currently on a 2G iPhone 2.2 Fw with Modem: 4.04.05_G
I dont know which BL I have.
I am using Pwnage Tool 3.1.4 on Apple Mac OSX running on VMWare to create the IPSW.
Should I try to keep 3.9 or 4.6 BL? What benefit does one have over other.. Especially now that both are unlockable.

If you are running FW 2.2, your wifi works and you are unlocked, your unlock is permanent and you have absolutely no need to mess about with BootNeuter, you just risk permanently bricking your iPhone.
There is no truth to the Location Services comment. I have been running 3.9 bootloader since I got my 2G iPhone and the wifi/cell tower location function has always worked (as well as it can seeing as it is not real GPS)
Unless you want to hack with the baseband or fix greyed out wifi problem, the bootloader version you run really does not matter.
