on board speaker?

Here's an experiment.. power up the ipod feature, and play audio through the onboard speakers. Sounds fine right? now cover up the "right" speaker, you can still here audio through the left speaker right? now do vise versa, and cover up the "left" speaker, no more audio.

Is this a default setting that the speaker is only on the left side of the phone? and the other "speaker" is actually a mic maybe? or is my right speaker busted?

When I cover up the left speaker, theres no audio, its muted, you can faintly hear it through the right speaker...

yea, I do. No need to be rude. Ive been following the iPhone since it was rumored years ago. It never really occurred to me to check the specs of the speaker. I was pretty sure one was the speaker and one wslas the mic. Its just after the break through of unlocking in a new and unknown territory, there are so many variables that could cause anything to happen...resulting in me being hyper critical of anything that may make me wonder; so I turn to the rest of the community for reassurance, not impatience or rudeness.

I didnt intend to be rude, but i reckon there is about 5 different threads on this. Its frustrating when people dont use the basic search function before they post a question. It just ends up clogging up the forum.

Agreed. Its getting to the point where this forum is becoming practically useless. I dare you to find something useful on the first page of posts....


To sum up the average day there are usually:

- 5 posts regarding how to unlock, which have been answered already
- at least 3 "amazing new ideas for unlocking"
- 6 completely lazy gits who cant be arsed to read manuals
- 9 people who really shouldn't be allowed near computers and for whom the concept of searching is clearly a new one.
