Blacks are not as black on "new" iphone
I bought an iphone about a month ago with 1.1.1 on it, and the blacks are very deep on it (although it does seem to have the negative black issue.) I got another one a few weeks ago (which, ironically, had 1.0.2 on it) and that one has much lighter blacks. Which one is the standard one now? The darker black (which I prefer) or the lighter one?

oh and by the way, the test I use to test the blacks is the phone keypad.

My screen has nice deep blacks, it is a 5 series screen from July. You DO have the negative black issue?... if so thats what your screen will be like. Unfortunately there is no "real" normal lately when it comes to screens. Most have the negative black issues and most are different from one to the other. I'd hate to say it but I think the quality of the screens are getting worse rather than better. There was a initial response from Apple in the beginning due to dead pixels but that was it as far as I remember.
Below is a great long thread about the negative black issues and overall poor screens.
For all those reading this who think their screen is good, STOP reading this thread, DO NOT click on the link and DON'T compare. If it is working for you and it looks good, leave well enough alone. My $.02
