Do you mean 'push' email, as in the service Apple have partnered with Yahoo to achieve?

Yes push email. I have a work blackberry device and would love to be able to use the iPhone to access e-mails/contacts/calendar as I do now.

Not sure if it is any good.

Are you using IMAP/POP email? My work email is IMAP and I just configured it on the iPhone yesterday - it works great and is much slicker than the rigid BB interface. It doesn't "push" email but I don't really care (a manual resync is fine with me). Also, I believe you can configure the iPhone to "poll" the mail server every X minutes.

Actually, I am thinking of tossing my BB Pearl into the toilet.

I too would love to dump my pearl and consolidate to just 1 device. I tried setting up the Nokia BB SW on my E61 and E65 and it works ok but there is functionality that you only get on a BB so until someone creates a 100% feature matched BB client for all devices (iPhone included) then I personally can't move to 1 device.

Something of note is that I believe all BB SW (RIM or otherwise) is Java based...

So far so good, but this is only looking at the mail part of the Blackberry solution. Anyone has an idea about sync'ing the calendar which in my case lives in Lotus Notes...
