Default big images on the iphone?

is there a way to copy images to the iphone and view them, without going through itunes, and having them scaled down?

would be a lot more fun zooming and panning in the images if they were 4k
    (and probably a lot slower)

Install the Apache web server. Then you can SCP image files to any directory you choose as htdocs and view them in safari. Zooming and paning is pretty fast.

    Hi !
i did so ( with iSpit, mini web server ) but Safari seems to always downscale Images to something around or below 2 MPix.
So my digicam images cannot be judged / viewed at 1:1 pixel resolution.
    That sux...

You're right. I've been viewing a scanned users manual in Safari and haven't
noticed any loss in resolution, but the pages are only around 500K. I loaded a
2Meg image and although it loads, pans, and zooms fine, the resolution is
cut. I tried the Books.app program, but it looses its mind on the 2 Meg file.

    Hi !

In another thread it was mentioned that there is a hard limit in the iPhone OS not beeing able to offer a larger view then approx. 2 Megapixels...

    BOOOOOOOOOOOOH !

So one would have to write an app that does memory handling and scolling manually, probably not as fast & sleek as the internal routine to display larger then 2 MPix Images as scollable 100% Resolution Image.

    again, BOOOOOOOOOH Steve !
