Thumbs up <?> Best IPhone Firmware Version <1.2.or3?>

    Hey Everyone.

I performed Nates soft jailbreak to 1.1.3 from a virginized 1.1.1 week 42 i believe only to mess things up (edge did not work, double contacts in adress book, etc.) Now i downgraded to 1.0.2, but still cannot get edge to work (will have to try revirginizing and bringing my phone back to 1.1.1 (which was what I was using all along).

Personally from everyone (because I know we have all been through these steps, every single one of us) what do you guys believe is the best firmware version? BY best, I am referring to stability, speed, and all of the settings being exactly the way as expected?

I want to stick with a version. Right now being on 1.0.2 I can tell you the speed is faster compared to the other versions, and do not know about application compatibility. So everyone give me feedback pertaining to what you think is the best version out now. What does everyone think?

i think u should go back to 1.1.1. thats the version u started on but whatever version u end up at u need to make sure you have the proper baseband (modem firmware) to operate properly with ur version of firmware which is the reason u didnt have edge at 1.0.2 and u shouldn't have had service for phone calls either.

but to be honest. 1.1.2 is the most stable firmware i think. get to 1.1.1 and oktoprep then upgrade to 1.1.2 and do touchfree jailbreak and stay at 1.1.2. edge settings stay put, its completly BUG/GLITCH free as far as everything i can see. it has the least "tweeks" needed. actually no tweeks needed to operate other then maybe move ur apps to save room on ur OS partition.

Having used all FW version since 1.0.0, I must admit that the best that I used to date is 1.1.2. It's stable, provides full int'l support, corrects the SMS bug, etc..

NateT's and the Dev Team's "implementation" or "interpretation" of 1.1.3 (sorry, not quite sure what to call what they've done) leaves a whole lot to be desired and is as far as I'm concerned, simply not worth the effort. I installed it and tried using it for 72hrs, but decided to go back to 1.1.2.

Yes, I too have reverted to 1.1.2.

After both Jailbreak methods for 1.1.3 did work there were a few minor and one major annoyances that made me go back..

Minor was neither summerboard or Customize were working the way I liked them to (Themes and hiding icons) but I'm sure updates will be released soon for that, so that barely counts.

The Google Maps locate me is terrible in comparision to the Third Party Locate me. I'm currently travelling around Europe and while Google could only put me in a huge area, Locate me usually was only a street or two off.

    The Major problem however was.

Mail.app was continually crashing on me. And as I'm emailling info to myself on directions that I get on my laptop so I can access it easy on the move, this led me to be lost and late many times. I'm not sure what was causing it, both Jailbreak methods screwed up Mail for me and I tried numerous things to fix. However on searching, it seems I was the only one with this issue.

The only benefit I would like from 1.1.3 is the ability to send an SMS to multiple recipients. I'll wait for the next one or a more stable Jailbreak that involves a proper iTunes upgrade rather than pseudo upgrading that it currently seems.

I think though, the main point is research it well, learn how to go Backwards if you need to (Very simple for me (BB 04.02 BL 3.9, Anysimed 1.2u) and give it a go.

Oh and one more thing, if you want to keep your SMS's back them up with Syphone or something similar, as it's been reported info backups of 1.1.3 iPhone's aren't backward compatible. I lost all my SMS's and notes, but they were incidental anyway.

    (Starfox style) Good Luck

I think I'll upgrade to 1.1.2 it seems like the best version since it runs faster than 1.1.1 and it has recent features that I need, without the bugs of 1.1.3.

Thanks so much for your responses!
