Default Best of both worlds... - idea?

Since the G1 is out now, and there are people on working on a Linux port for the iPhone... how about getting the best of G1 and iPhone? Create a boot loader that would allow to choose what to boot into, and the Linux port to be a port of the Android. This way we would have the Andriod and some applications that are only available on the Andriod, and the iPhone with it's original OS.

Well, I used to be an iphone user, now I'm a G1 user, the problem is that I got really tired of the problems firmware 2-2.1 had, crashes, slowness, signal loss, etc, etc... and I like the way android works with multitasking, something you will never find on an iphone... also it does not crash, you can upgrade memory, change battery... and it goes on and on... the iphone, as a hardware is great, i would say it's actually better in quality than the htc g1, but well... sometimes there are pro's and cons... anyways

This would be a good idea, to build android for the iphone and using a bootloader to use both OS's to switch and stuff.... I know there are several issues that will come up, but not to get too much into it, one of the biggest issue is that unless you wait until january, you won't be able to type anything because as of now, the android os does not have an on-screen keyboard, remember the g1 uses an physical qwerty keyboard, the iphone does not have this.... the reason I say to wait until january is because google is coming up with an android update which will include an on-screen keyboard, theenn its when other smartphones like the iphone are going to show up, and people would be able to build/install android on the iphone.

as for me on the G1, well, I love it, the only thing I'm missing from the iphone are the apps that I used to have when I had it, on here, well, there are a few apps that the iphone doesnt have, and will never have thanks to the background running of apps policy... but we just have to wait until january for developers to post their apps (right now only good apps available are free), in january google is launching their market to be able to charge for apps, so most developers are waiting for that...

p.s. sorry for the long post...
