Battery problem HUGE Discharge rate!!!
Got an Iphone originally unlocked and on 1.02 all working fine. Suddenly for no reason battery goes flat after a 4 hours with no use at all.
Changed battery for new...exact same problem!
So i think maybe a software problem so restored and took the opportunity to install 111 and then 112 unlocked and working fine except still only 4 hours battery life!!!!
Used sysinfo...nothing running in background different to another phone. Searched forums extensively and found others with same problem but no solution.
No ssh or dropbear installed and even installed ssh to check if by a miracle there was any evidence of dropbear etc....none.
Phone not appearing to get particularly hot or otherwise.
Removed all applications and games just to be sure....no difference.
Replaced battery again just to be sure....the same!
Any clues? Not easy for me to virginise and return to Apple as in UK.
I have found some reference to the logic board being the problem, any idea which component and is it replaceable? If I replace the logic board, will I have to restore the phone again.
I have great respect for the members of this forum and would appreciate any help you can offer.

This is a longshot but have you checked to see if your Email retieval is set to check for every 15 minutes as well?

Yep!..... nothing is switched on...wi fi off edge off, no sim
Thanks for your input though....really appreciated.
Have a secondary problem at no being able to find a supply of logic cards. Anyone with a source for supply....tried pdaparts etc.

Have you ever plugged into a third party charger, or ipod charger?

I have exactly the same problem .
I plugged my phone into a dock and it killed the battery ( so I thought ). I got a replacement battery fitted and that lasts only 4-5 hours with little to no useage.
I began to think maybe they didn't replace my battery (how would I know if did or not).
I followed the same root of virginising etc etc making sure there was no application draining the battery .
Where did you get the info about logic boards from ?

It looks there is a hardware problem. I would returne the phone to apple for replacement or main board change.

Been continuing the research into this, yes I do use a Bose Sound dock to charge the phone, but have done for 3 months with no problems.
Seems there is a problem with this unit damaging the power reg chip on logic card, even though Bose say it is safe to use with the iphone.
Perhaps a warning sticky should be issued on the forum to warn people about this, especially with an unlocked phone used out of the US and especially that the first action would be to have the battery replaced.....which would invalidate any warranty.
I have also read (via google searches) that some of these logic boards components are weaker than others and prone to going faulty sooner than others.
You have been warned!!!
Expensive and almost impossible to repair I have discovered. Even the people saying they have logic boards in stock don't!!! Apparently Apple is not giving parts to 3rd party repair facilities...unless one of you know different? Many repairers are using second hand parts from damaged phones they have bought.
The difficulty with this fault is that the phone appears to work normally when on a short test....you might end up with a replacement logic board fitted with exactly the same fault....making you believe the problem is elsewhere such as the comm board.
