Default Battery Life Too Short on Unlocked 1.1.1? This works for me.

    Hey,

Ever since updating to 1.1.1 the battery life just sucked. It didn't even last one full day with mixed talk/standby usage. I've tried multiple options found on this forum, but nothing worked. I've disabled OpenSSH, Wallpaper dimming, etc, etc. Didn't help. 2 days ago, I've uninstalled the Summerboard app and now the battery life is back! By the way, to those who might not know, you would still be able to scroll your springboard left/right after uninstalling the app. It worked for me.

I had the same thing happen to me. After uninstalling app, I was still able to move the pages from left to right.

Indeed summerboard, but I still find it strange, since summerboard should only improve battery life as it includes extra power saving methods. That is why the Johntool exists, which turns Summerboard's power savings off.

    Thumbs up

Awesome! I went through the same process reading countless posts, trying countless uninstalls and setting changes, but this really did it for me.

My iPhone (OTB 1.0.2, unlocked Anysim, upgraded 1.1.1) almost never showed 100% battery status or maybe just for a short moment. After moderate use for one day battery was almost empty or at least less than 40%.

After uninstalling Summerboard the battery immediately went up to 100% from about 90% with Summerboard.

Maybe we should check and find out why this is happening only to some iPhones.

I didnít really use Summerboard for more than changing the desktop anyway, but does anyone know how to change the black background into a photo without Summerboard.

    Hi,

Has anyone tried this on a 1.1.2? I tried to uninstall it via Installer but I keep getting an error message "Main execution script failed"

I think I might need to have wifi to uninstall it.

Also, are people using Installer to uninstall or manually using SSH to uninstall?

    Thanks

I've used installer and, probably, that's why I can still scroll the springboard. Obviously, it's not fully deleted from Iphone, but as long as my battery life improves - I don't care.
