yeah ... don't do it if it is just for the battery sake ...
there is a power management file (plist) on the phone. Let me see if I can find & look at it to see if it has anything to do with it.
One question for you guys, how was your phone Unlocked, what did you use ?

Thanks for looking into this situation. The battery drain problem and beta version of the pwnage sw has kept me from upgrading to FW 1.1.4.

I can usually get like 12 hours of use on it before it gets to like 20%

If I just use it casually I want to say I can get 2 days out of it.. This is roughly what I get on MY phone, I am not sure whether these are normal or not (I have heard some people getting 3 days?)

Usage 4 hours 10 minutes (calls & ipod - ipod usage more - wifi in short burst for checking yahoo mail and occasional EDGE usage for stock/email check)
Standby: 1 day, 12 hours
Battery info: 56% discharging ..

FW 1.1.4 with 3.9FB
16 GB iphone

I had the same issue but after installing the bootneuter and settings listed its working fine now.

it lasted me for about 2 days, without any ipod use.. i used wifi..

now it lasts me only like 6hours with no ipod use, little wifi..

1.0.2 otb, battery lasted about 2 days, now with 1.1.4 about 6 hours no ipod
i verginized then restored with itunes and used iliberty+ (pc) to do the rest.. only choose youtube fix and my bl is still 3.9

My phone has a very similar history (not identical though, OTB 1.1.1, AppSnapp JB, softupgrade 1.1.3, restored and then pwned 1.1.4) and my battery is pretty strong. There must be something else going on, do you use Sysinfo to check which processes are alive in your machine?
