Power and battery

Standby time: Up to 250 hours
Internet use: Up to 6 hours

thats what they claim!
after using my iphone for a while..I'm looking at standby mostly. with SSH, WIFI and email autocheck off. mine last 18 hours on standy
If i do heavy surfing for say 3 hours, i use 50% of battery
if i take my fone off the dock, and go to bed, when i wake up 8 hours later, i have 50% battery left!
so, how does apple figure 250 hours standy??
is it just me or anyone else have low standby hours?
please add your battery life time here.

• turn off SSH
• if you're not on 1.1.2 turn off Edge, WiFi
• don't leave "loading" page in Safari, don't leave "now playing" music in iPod
• try emptying battery few times in a row (formatting)
I surf web, play roms, listen to the music, make calls and write sms and it lasts 2 - 3 days. And standby is for sure a week or so.
You may consider upgrading to 1.1.2, because of its better energy management.

For me it is the same bad times: 24 tot MAX 36 hours, NOT calling much, NOT using the iPod, iPhoto etc, only for short demos.
The iPhone is just something that is _very_ sexy in bars, but as a workhorse I rely on my sturdy SE K750i.
Cheers,

everything is off and nothuing is in background.
i even restore it to 1.1.1 with nothing on it, i dont even sync up data at all.
fully charged, if i let it sit there un docked 8 hours later 50% battery.
i asked this same question on apple and it seems alot of ppl are experiencing this problem. it seems some baths of iphone, those with serial number below 40 and down show this battery issue.
i'm just trying tog et a feel for what other ppl's battery life experiences are.
so right now i'm toying with the idea of taking it back to apple to have it swapped out and i'm trying to figure out if apple indeed will jsut swap it out based on my complaint.
but to do so, i must place the iphone in a state that shows it was never hacked.
right now i have 1.1.1 unlocked with tmobile.
if i return i'll insert the ATT sim which is no longer active. i guess i could give the sob story that i was unhappy with it and turned off my ATT account until i had time to fix it.
I'll virginize it and restore 1.1.1, i would think they cant tell.
however a friend tried to get his fixed and he did exact same thing and somehow they read the IMEI number off the unit and it did not match so i dont understand that. right now if i do about, settings my IMEI and serial numbers match to that written on back of the unit.

well, if i don't mess with it (minimum calls, no showing it off, no installing every .app i like, etc.) i've managed to get it to run 9 days straight on standby most of the time (wifi on, edge off, autocheck email off, no ipod usage), which figures pretty close to the 250 hours advertised.
with a couple of calls per day, texting and the "occasional messing with it" i usually have a life expectancy of 5-7 days. i must say i rarely use it as an ipod though...

With about a couple of hours of calling, an hour or so of ipod listening, 2-3 hours connected to bluetooth headset (bluetooth is off rest of the time), an hour or so of "messing around", an hour or so of surfing (wifi and edge mixed), my iphone battery is at about 20-30%.
Usually I charge it every 1.5 days on average....

Mine lasts almost 3 days because I don't use my phone much, I don't like talking on the phone. That's with a few hours of talking time some browsing and I stupidly had openssh on.

Mine about 2 day. Minimum calls, a few sms per day.Wifi on SSH on
