    Default Baseband downgrade maybe...????

    Hi There,

I've had a 1st gen iPhone sent to me. It was dropped in the sea and has sat on my desk for the last 6 or 8 months. To my surprise after all that time its now dried out and working fine. Battery is even in top notch condition.

So anyway I installed the latest 2.2.1 firmware and then used quickPwn to JailBreak and unlock it. All went great except for the unlocking... At least I think its unlocked but its showing either 'No Service' or gives me empty bars for reception. I'm pretty sure its not the hardware (even though it historically loves a good dip in the ocean).

From the reading I've done I think I may need to downgrade the base band to run on the shitty GSM network I'm on...? Does this sound right? any pointers as to how to get the actual phone part working would be greatly appreciated... At the moment its a glorified remote for my iTunes :-)

    Thanks in advance
