Baseband corrupted? No WIFI/GSM/Bluetooth
Hi guys.
Could really use some help here.
I've got an iPhone - without the phone-part, so it's really just an "i".
I got the "Repair needed" message - and GSM/WLAN/Bluetooth isn't working. IMEI, modem firmware and everything else in "About" is just blank...
I've tried to restore in iTunes, but it hangs for a very long time, and finally gives me the "Error 1002".
It's possible to access the iPhone after activation with QuickPwn - but BootNeuter gives me "Error 46".
I've tried
- restoring to 2.2
- restoring to 2.1
- updating to 2.2 again
- downgrading to 1.1.4 + downgrade baseband
- restore to 1.1.4 + erase baseband
- restore to 1.1.4 again
- update to 2.2 + Quickpwn
But nothing works.
I've searched this forum, but haven't found any solutions, this one ( http://hackint0sh.org/forum/archive/...p/t-34713.html ) gave me hope (it's exactly the same problem as mine) - but it seems outdated.
It's a 16 gb from US (don't know the original bootloader/baseband version).
I live in Denmark so a "warranty exchange" isn't an option.
What to do?

i know its old, but you could DFU to 1.1.2/jailbreak, and run bbupdater to see if it can talk to the baseband
or use bootneuter n it may help see if the baseband is still in tact

Okay, I'll try that when I get home...
When I run bootneuter 2.1 in FW 2.2 it gives error 46 - thats where I got the idea that the baseband is corrupted - but don't if thats correct..?!
How is the deal with bootloader and baseband when dfu-downgradig to 1.1.2, shouldn't I downgrade them too? And how?

hm try just putting the phone in dfu mode (hold home button and sleep for 10 seconds then just hold the button) (make sure your phone is plugged in to itunes because dfu mode displays nothing on the screen) then restore (preferably to 2.2(much easier)) and then use quickpwn to jailbreak/unlock
if thats not working then try
another option I just though of is to downgrade the bootloader from 4.6 to 3.9 (I'm guessing you have a 1.1.2 or 1.1.3 OTB) and downgrade to firmware 1.1.1 and virginize the baseband
and if still that's not working, find someone that is willing to let you use their iphone, and switch the commboards and restore (p.s when switching commboards alway unplug the red cable from battery because it could fry the mainboard if you don't)

well im assuing they tried dfu mode to get down to 1.1.4... but hmmmmm go down to 1.1.1 and try using bbupdater to ping the baseband and that should answer some questions
-
Okay.
Already tried dfu to 2.2 - nothing
Right now I'm struggeling with Winpwn trying to get it to pwn my Itunes, 'cus I get a lot of 1604's when trying to restore to a custom 1.1.4 fw (wanted to try that because the custom fw is able to down/upgrade both baseband and bootloader).
But, I will try to downgrade to 1.1.1 and use bbupdater this weekend - and post the result(s) here..

how did u end up like this in the first place????
-
I don't know - bought it from a guy who just "couldn't get the phone-part to work" - after a little chit-chat with him, I got the feeling that he just didn't knew anything about it, so that it would be an easy repair for me (i.e. dfu-restore + Quickpwn) and then I would have a real cheap iPhone.
Nothing is never as easy at it seems ;-)

To the guy who made the first post
how did you jump so many versions without doing a DFU.
Did you change your itunes with each jump ?
