Default [BACKUP] Old backup lost during 1.1.3 upgrade

ok I just upgraded to 1.1.3 to and I wanted to restore my phone from backup to get contacts and sms and email and... back and guess what - during the process of upgrading (I dont remember 1.1.1 to 1.1.2 or 1.1.2 to 1.1.3 or maybe 1.0.2 to 1.1.1) I had to set up the phone as "new iPhone" and iTunes for some reason decided that I dont need the old backup anymore and deleted it. Some old files still exists in the backup directory of iTunes which makes me think to be the ones I need along with some new ones which I'm now using.

so now I'm left with a nice upgraded 1.1.3 iphone and a crapload of phone numbers and sms's to figure out and put into phonebook... is there a way to restore that lost backup? because even though i really don't care about bookmarks and settings I need those phone numbers and sms's.
    thanks

DONT REPEAT MY MISTAKE IF YOUR UPGRADING/DOWNGRADING TO/FROM 1.1.3... READ BELOW!!!

DO NOT KEEP YOUR IPSW firmware files in one folder because if you click on 1.1.3 instead of 1.1.2 ur iphone will not recover till 1.1.4

if you was on 1.1.3 and then experienced some issue and want to goback to 1.1.1 and do whole process again you may lost ur backup in this step

when you downgraded to 1.1.1 and OKtoPrep installed now it’s time to update to 1.1.2 but itunes want to choose ur last backup but your latest backup taken on 1.1.3 and iTunes give you an error. do not setup as new iphone JUST hold power and home button while your iphone boots in DFU mode then use iBricker 0.91 to boot ur iphone again

open itunes again now you are able to press shift+update

    enjoy
