    Default Audio Jack & Headphones

Hi i was wondering if anyone could help me?

Everything on my iphone worked until today when i plugged my headphones into the audio jack and no sound came through them!! Sound comes out of the speaker when headphones are plugged in, it seems that the audio jack doesn't recognize when i have the headphones plugged in (btw the headphones are the offical apple ones).

Will i probably have to buy a new flex cable and install that??

    Regards Chris

Hey, Chris. Did the headphones work before?

I mean when I got my iphone, no earphone worked b/c the earphone's jack had to be inserted much deeper. So I cut and shave off the rubber tip around the jack with a nail cutter all the earphones I got :p

    hope this helps.

    Hi thanks for the reply.

Yeah the headphones have always worked, what i forgot to mention was that i found one of those multi adapter chargers which had a similar lead to the end of the headphones. I was curious to see if it was able to charge the phone with this from the jack, it didn't but i thought nothing of it until i tried to use my headphones the next day and they didn't work. I think i might of blown the audio jack and have ordered a new flex cable which will hopefully solve my problem.

Im pretty sure this is how the problem occured and it was pretty stupid of me to try this!

Its something like this what i used but had a different head plus it was a mains adapter.
