Attn Tmobile Users
ok so im currently an att/cingular user in the US. they are refusing to go into my device profile and enable the mms settings. now im thinking about switching to T-mobile. i have a couple of questions. First, how would you rate the service you receive as far as signal etc etc. Secondly, what plan do i need to get as far as data packages for my iphone to work with t mobile to receive mms messages. Lastly. will they let me go in there and just buy a plan without buying a phone? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
att isnt REFUSING to enable mms on your iphone, they CANT. The iphone can not send or recieve MMS messages, only sms and email.
you can switch to tmobile if you want, even add a nice data plan that has mms, it still wont make it work with your iphone tho. Do some basic research, every iphone review out there points out that it can not do mms......
EDIT: I apologize for the rude comments i made :\

SaberSHO--why do you have to call nawlinsborn73 an idiot? He is asking for advise--that what the forums are for. No need to name call.
I have had T-Mobile for 6 years--I have no complaints. I get a great signal, even in a area that is known for not so great signal quality. You should be able to use the $20 unlimited data plan. As for MMS, you can view them on tmo's website or upload to a number of other sites, but you can't send them even with the data plan. You can call customer care and talk with them. I have found their customer care to be excellent for the most part. When you occasionally get someone that doesn't seem to know what they are talking about, just call back.
Good luck to you. I have heard that the MMS issue may be addressed with the upcoming new iphone release...we will have to wait and see.
ok u can get the 5.99 data plan and reciece mms if your phone is jailbroken. I send and reciece them all the time. With swiry mms. And the 5.99. Dada plan is about 100 to 150 Kbps. U may need the pic and text plan for 15 bucks unlimited for mms. sorry for any mistakes I am on my iPhone
Hey SaberSHO, fyi iPhone is capable of sending and receiving MMS.

Sorry for the rudenesss, i was having a crappy day.
Now anyone can feel free to call me an idiot for venting his anger on the internetz :\
I wouldn't go as far as calling the thread starter an idiot but he's damn near close to one. True MMS can be sent on jailbroken phones but AT&T does not support hacked phones or will "enable" MMS settings on an unhacked phone.

if you talk to at*t, tell them u sold ur iphone and dont want the iphone plan anymore, you can change it to a standard plan, add internet, and text, they will enable mms and will not flag ur plan for recieving or sending. they jus will not enable it on an iphone plan.
just wait tho, future firmware update may have mms included which would force at*t to enable it for iphone plans.
but, if you do wanna go with tmobile, i use it, and i LOVE it. service everywhere. internet is great thru edge.
get the standard 1000 any time mins, unlimited nights and weekends for 39.99
add text either 1000 for 10 bux or unlimited for 15
add tzones and use the proxy hack via installer for 5.99
and ur plan ends up being around 65 or so a month after tax

YES U CAN USE MMS on the iPhone on T-Mobile!!
YES You can use MMS on T-Mobile. you have to install a program called SwirlyMMS thru the installer and then add the settings. But it does work!! I have T-Mobile and have for 9 year . My iphone works better here in LA than most of the people i know on AT&T
I have a jailbroken 1.1.4 iPhone with the swirlyMMS package installed so i can send pictures.
I have the following settings:
Those are the settings that everybody says to use. However, I can not get it to work.
I get various error messages each time.
Here are some:
Failed to send MMS - The network reported: service denied (pe)
Failed to send MMS - Failed to POST: timeout or error when reading http header
Failed to send MMS - Access denied
What do I do? Please respond.
