how the hell do i get apptapp installed on my iphone...

i've unlocked and jailbroken with independence.. .

i've tried installing apptapp, and it just makes my iphone hang and stay on the ! screen.. i've left it about 20 minutes, and nothing happens on the install... what am i doing wrong..

i've just had to do a total restore of my iphone.. which is highly annoying, as i just had it set up perfectly..

Lesson number 1:
Never EVER install Apptap when you are jailbroken. Use indepence to activate. Don't use jailbreak. Install apptap then, apptap does the jailbreak differently and your able to add and remove what you want after installing apptap.
Installing apptap on a jailbroken phone will cause a hang and a restore is needed then.

makes sense that does.. i was jailbroken as i was adding in some ringtones and stuff...

thank you... maybe it should be on the apptapp page - DO NOT HAVE YOUR IPHONE JAILBROKEN

50% through sync now, i'll tell ya if it works in 20 mins..

if you have apptap installed, no
before installation of aptapp, yes. Only make sure you return to jail

I usually restore my phone, activate it and cancel first sync. then i run jailbreak, install my ringtones and custom stuff, then do the full sync in itunes which un-jails the phone and puts all my contacts, music, etc. back on the phone, this keeps the phone at the original 8 gig size. Not the smaller size that happens if you sync then unjail. then i run apptapp.

ok.. i have apptapp installed now, and found that there isn't really anything i want to install... if i uninstall apptapp now from the installer icon on my springboard, can i go back to using independence (which i prefer), and then keep using iNdependence..

or do i have to do a full restore, to go back to doing what i want to do..

i appreciate the help, i want to get into a situation, where i can install stuff / ringtones / wallpapers etc....

you can delete apptap, but you dont need to jaibreak again. Only use independence to add or remove things. Not for jaibreaking.

but i can't install anything in independence, without it being jailbroken.. it is all greyed out

aaah... independence sees that it is jailbroken...
so i can't return it to jail.... ?

and my final question for now is....

once i'm jailbroken, is there any need to "return to jail"

i'm confused a bit... i prefer independence, but i want to be able to return to jail etc etc as and when i need to.. also does SSH always run in the background, (installed via independence) , and does this drain battery?? (there is no icon on the desktop you see!)

also, i can't SSH into my phone as it is jailbroken right now... eh? please help
