Default Apple's handsets are believed to be running in Canada using Rogers Wireless!

I found this article while surfing the net, something we do not know.

    I QUOTE THE ARTICLE.

"Apple's handsets are believed to be running in Canada using Rogers Wireless, but only for Apple technicians who must support the phone for US customers."

... I'm not sure I see how this is relevant ... More than likely, they're just roaming.

Do you think it would make sense for them to roam in canada?????

For your information the answer is NO!!!! THEY ARE NOT ROAMING IN CANADA!

I also heard from a few people that the Apple reps in canada are using IPhone too.

If it's Apple employees that are the ones with iPhones on Rogers is anyone REALLY surprised that Apple Inc. has unlocked iPhone for their staff on an "as needed" basis? This seems almost obvious to me.

The staff was told explicitly not to make phone calls on the iPhones. Not sure why but that would make sense if they are roaming

    Just to add some context:

Here is the article this came from: http://www.electronista.com/articles...one.at.rogers/

Here is the discussion that started that article:

    http://www.ehmac.ca/ipod-itunes-ipho...s-network.html

Take the comments for what they are...

Don't get me wrong, I want my iPhone up and running on Rogers as much as the next Canuck.

Teddie, I have an iphone, and I am Canadian. I'm excited to unlock, but you have to be much more logical and realistic about this: Rogers does not yet have available the infrastructure to support the iphone's advanced features - such as visual voicemail. I know it's being implemented, but it's not available yet. THEY'RE WORKING ON IT.

Now, it's unlikely that an Apple Employee tasked with SUPPORTING U.S. CUSTOMERS would be using the ROGERS infrastructure, when the ROGERS infrastructure isn't ready for prime time yet. They'll need to be on the production servers.

And finally, they'll be using CORPORATE phone accounts- Apple pays the bill.

As a rule of thumb guys, if it looks like the iphone is being used on any other (than AT&T's) network... ITS ROAMING.

    There is no conspiracy here.

If they're apple employees, APPLE pays.

Don't yell, don't get so excited, and see if you can't get your exclamation and question mark keys unstuck.
