Apple Wont Give Credit If not on ATT (WHAT A RIP OFF)
What the hell is with Apple they rip us off with the 599 phone drop it to 399 but we got to be on ATT to get credit???
That don't changed the fact that we still bought the dam phone regardless. they don't care if its new and un activated. I got one here for a gift its wrapped up for christmas i paid 599 for it I purchased two at the time, one for me and one as a gift and they won't give me a credit.
Tell me it has to have ATT I said my receipt should be good enough its a gift and un open.
Dammit what the hell happen to consumer rights, and customer service!!!
its like you buy something now days and you are a criminal.
frickin companies are greedy ( you hear that APPLE) (YELLING)

You could activate a pay as you go account just to get the discount. Assuming the pay as you go account is cheaper than the rebate you could still get some money back. It's better than nothing.

I guess, its just the principle of the matter that pisses me off, plus a big price drop that soon just not fair to consumers.
I will try that, but I should not half to

I suppose that might work, but I doubt it. I'm pretty sure they're limiting the credit to "official" ATT iPhone customers. The retail box lists "new 2 year contract with at&t" as a requirement. I don't know if that is legally binding, but it probably doesn't matter since Apple is not required to give the $100 credit in the first place, so they can impose whatever restrictions they want.
I'm curious: has anyone who activated on their old ATT/cingular service WITHOUT a new contract (iAsign method) been able to claim the credit?
On the positive side: there's no restriction on how the $100 credit is used and it doesn't expire.

You can activate officially with 2year contract then cancel within 3 days and get a full refund, right? In theory you could claim your credit then cancel. I guess that might mess up your unlock somehow, and still doesn't help all of you in other countries.

100% agree with you. Nothing much to add really.

I have always been fairly respectful of Apple and there products. I have plugged there products to everyone I know. I have also played "fair"
when it came to Apple's products.
My respect is slowly dwindling away and if this is truly the case it will be all out war! I am tired of being prejudiced by country.
