    Default Apple Warranty

I live in montréal,qc canada and I purchased my iPhone from a las vegas apple store and i'm wondering now that I'm back here, if it broke, how can I get my iphone exchanged ? Will the apple store in canada provide support for a product they don't sell, I already know they can't provide me any accessories for it but what about the warranty? Another question... How strict is apple for their warranty ? I have a 1.1.2 OTB jailbroken and unlocked via Stealthsim which is probably stuck in the iPhone (considering the amount of force I had to use to get it in there) and Im wondering if I break anything (aka sim pin reader) pulling it out can I manage to get that on the warranty ? Anyways thx to whoever can answer my questions

No AT&T Phone number no warranty. That is how it works. Unless you can see the problem with it on the activate screen, they will not do anything about it. Sorry.

    Above post = wrong.

You don't need to have an AT&T phone number to get a warranty. I delivered my iPhone (prev jailbreaked) to repair. They didn't require that.

Are you 100% certain about this or is an assumption? I have a problem with my iPhone and I'm also considering to take it for service/warranty but I'm with T-Mobile and after reading all the warranty terms couldn't find anything related to have an ATT number or no support will be provided. Can anyone comment about this? what are the requirements to claim warranty repair or replacement?

in the height of unlocking they got super strict on the ATT requirement, before it was "popularised" they didnt ask, i had mine serviced in aug and was never asked. it is possible they have now relaxed a little, i wouldnt count on it though.

there is a 100% sure fire way to get your warrenty though!

using the ATT sim that came with the phone (you didnt toss it did you?) go on thier website or google "go phone" to get to the pre paid page, here you will register for an account. provide what ever info you want, i used the adress of the apple store in buffalo.
when making the account use the number off the sim from ATT and the serial of the iphone, you will be prompted to add money to the account but you also have the option of skiping this step. you will be given a phone number and your done.

best way to get repairs is call 1800 my iphon and tell them whats wrong (they will ask for your phone number, but are unable to see it is a go phone account) and you can book a genius appointment with them.

you do have another option though, i havent actually done this but i did ask about it. i called the apple store in TO and told them i was on a trip in canada and my iphone wasnt working, they offered to mail it in for me but nothing could be done in canada. it would take 4 days to be serviced.

I tried to do the go phone thing, but couldn’t find what you said about registering for go phone service, they only offer you to purchase the equipment + go phone kits, can you be more specific about how to do this??? also what if I use my friends SIM card to claim repair, he got an iPhone with ATT, could I swap SIMS and claim warranty under his service.?
