Apple Store New York 5th Avenue WLAN?

Hi guys,
next week i will stay in New York.
I would like to buy an iphone and want to jailbreak, immmediately.
Where I can get free WLAN to jailbreak now?
Anyone knows if the Apple Store on the 5th could have WLAN for free?

How about Starbucks or another coffee shop? Might not be free but its not very expensive. You might be asked to leave the A store if they discover you are JBing your phone with their WiFi.

besides the fact that you will need to downgrade the unit first which I definatly would not recamend you do in the store for obvious reasons. All the apple stores have wireless. Its also not had to find an open network on big cities like that.

I'd walk in with my laptop and sit and downgrade and upgrade and break it infront of them : ) what can they do... your device at the end of the day hehe.

i know that I have to downgrade it first. I thought I take my notebook to New York. But i need WLAN.

ok, i will test it in the Apple Store, i need an adrenalin rush :-)

Why don't you just download the 1.1.1 and 1.1.2 ipsw and save them in your laptop ?

Then you just need to sync/downgrade your phone 1.1.1 and jailbreak it, install oktoprep and finally, upgrade it to 1.1.2.

You'll just need the wifi to jailbreak/oktoprep.

All tools are on my notebook. I think i'll find an open WLAN, too.

Any Apple Store provides free Wireless access. On NY, 5th Ave, SoHo or the new one (forgot its name) provides. I do not let my phone ask to join a network, but it connects automatically to Apple Store ones

There are plenty of free WiFi options in that area. You could even try the free Central Park WiFi spots. Also note that the jailbreakme.com site might be blocked by Apple Store. So you'll most likely want to use another source.
