AppleInsider is reporting that iTunes 7.5 will be out as early as next week. As usual, take extra caution, and don't update to the new version unless the dev-team or someone else confirms that it is safe to upgrade.

A new version of Apple Inc.'s iTunes media software due as early as next week will deliver a number of small refinements, but is not expected to introduce any major new features, AppleInsider has learned.

probably a small update for the activation of iPhone on the other carriers.

I dont think that Apple will put anything in iTunes for the unlocked french iPhones, why because we could exploit that. my feeling is that they will go for a solution where the phone always reverts to a factory activated state by passing the whole activation with iTunes.

this could be good news for people with IPSF as thier phones seem to think they are legitimately unlocked (PN 5,0) and they would probably never see the activation screen again. however if the RSA hole is closed and best case locks IPSF people back up or worse case leaves them with an iBrick.

Personally im willing to bet that a legitimate unlock for the phone occurs through iTunes via the iTunes store. eventually when the 2 years are up on the ATT contracts and ATT claims they will unlock you after that i think you will just do a search in the iTunes store for "iphone unlock" and it will show up like a song, probably a fee for it and some sort of application process/waiting period to decide if you qualify.
