Default Apple has Refurbish 4GB Iphone again! Version?

    Hey guys,

I just checked apple's site, it's selling refurbish 4GB Iphone again for $299!

What version of firmware and bootloader would that be.... is it still 3.9? I believe firmware must be 1.12, but would they upgrade the bootloader for those old 4GB iphone? cause I wanna get one one those.

    Anyone comments?

    Thx, Jacky

Bootloader is hardware therefore can't be upgraded.

So what are the chances, that the 4GB refurbished Iphones on apple.com are still unlockable? Or do you think the have the new Bootloader & Baseband ???

who could possible aswer that? Only someone who bought it, right? So since nobody buys it we will never find out... but well: lemme tell you: I expect them to have the old bootloader... But since my order hasnt arrived yet, that's only a guess...

    You are right mate!

But is there no Hardware FAQ about the 4GB Iphone?? I searched the hole web... but nothing ..

I think it would be very surprising, if these 4GB would have the new bootloader?! But maybe here is someone around how closley bought a 4GB refurbished Iphone?

    So what do they say?

You will get a week 45+ phone. I bought some last week and have not received them yet but i checked my invoice online and the serials are week 45. I cannot say what the bootloader version is though.

if it comes with the new BL, you can still turn it into an Ipod Touch, which costs the same money and wait for the unlock.

Hm... I am using an refurbish 4GB iphone that ordered a while back (arrived 2 weeks before 1.1.2 came out), the serial no. is ***43*****, I was able to unlock it, it came with 1.1.1 version.

Hm... if the serial no. does play a role, then it would be true that the new refurbish 4GB iphone will have a 45+ serial number with 1.1.2 firmware, most likely a new bootloader as well.

So... questions remains... Is bootloader upgradeable by software from Apple, or it is actually a hardware? It is hardware, apple won't bother doing replacement on refurbish, however, if it is software, then otherwise...

    Anyone has thoughts?
