Default Apple in-ear earphones, do they work with the iphone?

I am considering buying some apple in-ear earphones for my iphone, but before I do I was wondering if anyone here actually has them and if so do they fit in the iphones sunken earphone jack?

I would really appreciate a reply cause I don't want to find that they don't work after I get them,

    Cheers

Only a few that should support the iPhone. You should check and ask the sales before buying. Easy,

No, the Apple InEarPhones do definitly not work with the iphone, they do not fit physically into the small hole (the contacts are standard but the plastic surrounding the contact is to thick.)

This sucks, I know because I have a pair and had to buy new ones (in the SoHo Store they said: "Yes the Apple InEarPhones will work.... and later... you have to get an adapter)...

it looks like I am going to have to buy an adapter, which is a pain. I'll get one off ebay. I have creative in-ear earphones atm, but I was considering replacing them with the apple ones if they fitted in the iphone slot, but they don't.

Thanks for the help guys, its saved me a bit of cash.

I have the original Apple In-Ears in use with my phone. The jack is absolutely the same as the original speakers, that come with the phone.

Here a pic of my headphones:

By the way - they sound great!

it looks like it depends on the date.
i bought mine in may, and they dont work.
i got it in, but its very tight, and eventually the iphone cut the plastic. sucks thou.
best is to ask in the apple store if they work, let it open and test it, if its an old one, just dont buy it. let them sit on their shit, it's their own fault
