I keep hearing about the unlock on phones with the new bootloader. That's pretty awesome but let's not forget those with the old If 1.1.3 has a new modem firmware, it'd still be nice to have that unlocked on the old bootloader phones and not have to wait until the next firmware like with the new bootloader phones. Also, technically, this would make the current firmware unlock ready for new bootloader phones immediately when that next firmware is out You have the old bootloader phones to test on since the firmware images should be alike despite the bootloader.

But that said thanks for the great work. If only I had the prgramming knowledge I would definitely contribute to the code.

I think there is a major misunderstanding of opensource and even the GPL in these posts. Also please be careful with the method thing, there will be no new method from this source, it will stay the same and the chaos, you already got in form of bad bin patchs made without permission by some rude third party clowns.
I don't think that it will have that much a big impact to the community, its a straight and correc topen sourced and maintanced project.
Linux works, other osss projects do as well, why shouldn't that work as well?

A little bit selfish (a lot, I'd say ) How could they possibly forget about the old ones, which are the most part?
I'm sure you'd like (as many others) to upgrade to 1.1.3 (which is not even out at this time, BTW), but at least you can use it now, IT HAS ALREADY BEEN UNLOCKED, while there are thousands and thousands of people stuck with a 400bucks iPod, myself included. C'mon man!

Hey hey, let's avoid the fighting words -- EVERYONE is selfish in this. Everyone wants an unlock, and the only people really doing anything about it at all are the Dev Team. They could easily pack it up and leave us in the cold no matter what phone we have, but they don't, so hats off to them. That's all I'm sayin'.

end of the day you knew the score when you BOUGHT the iPhones.... deal with it.. If you spent over the odds on a phone that's your own stupid faults...

It's good to see this opensourced like all things should be these days!.... If you want a unlocked phone be patient... if not go activate it legally and stop the bitching : )

And yes... MOST people on here are SELFISH!

Well I won't be bitching since my phone is unlocked but...I wish there was more I could contribute to the open source effort. My programming and reverse engineering knowledge is almost nothing... But I'm sure now many people with some talent can contribute and that's good to see! Mad props to all involved
