Hey ok this is a total noob question but i just have to ask - how do i unpack and install this do i need to DL a program with installer to get into root systems in the iphone - have no idea how to do this and would appreciate any help

Modified by me. It's better than iVolume. I feel very uncomfortable while using iVolume. It's simply too loud. It's loud enough to break your ear drums when you use earbuds. So I modified the original plist files using TextWrangler and saved it in the original binary encoding.

Download and unpack
http://quadrofx.com/download/Volume.zip

Put com.apple.celestial.plist file in /var/root/Library/Preferences/
Put SystemSoundMaximumVolume.plist file in /System/Library/Frameworks/Celestial.framework/

Restart the phone to apply the changes.

I just took a peek at the 1.1.2 files. They seem to have the same structure as 1.1.1. Therefore my files should work on 1.1.2.

Well for starters - it would help if you told us what operating system you use and also what the status of your iphone is - firmware/jailbreak etc

You dont need to install anything. Simply extract the two files from that zip , make sure the iPhone is connected via USB and then using iBrickr which you can get from here: http://cre.ations.net/blog/tag/ibrickr Click on Files and then in virtual phone to the right - go to each of those locations and simply replace the orginal file with the one in the system.

iBrickr gives you the option of saving the file first - so do so, that way if you aren't happy with the hacked files, you can put your original files back. Hope this helps!
