Dankie those dont refund opened software or media, they will exchange it for you and you can then return the exchange for store credit that you can sell on ebay for 80% the value or use it to buy something else but you can never get it refunded

What I'm more interested in is how long IPSF last as a company and how long their authentication servers last.

I bought one of Trash's licences, but am an impatient hacker and was running the Dev Team reversed unlock within minutes of it being posted. My phone has run properly unlocked ever since (apart from my Mac complaining about not being able to perform SSL operations when I plug the phone in) so I haven't used my IPSF licence.

Theoretically my IPSF licence is sitting ready on their authentication server, my IMEI is authorised and both Trash and IPSF are happy with their profit from my payment.

However it may be a while before I use it... since I'm currently unlocked with community tools and have a *lot* of unixy stuff on it, I'm having a lot of fun with the phone. I was never told that the licence would 'expire'... so if Apple release a new firmware and IPSF crack it, and I hadn't used my old licence, and IPSF crack the new firmware before the Dev Team then I wonder whether my old licence would still be valid

I bet not. But at long as my licence still holds, since I've paid for it, I'm not unhappy. There was an alarmist post here about unused licences being re-sold and cancelled under Aussie law - I hope that was bullshit because that *would* wind me up. Paying for a service and not using it, I can cope with, I'm an adult. However if I pay for a licence and then it's taken away just because I haven't used it... that *is* taking the piss.

One hopes that the IPSF guys are using their profits to continue work on the iPod Touch so they can be first-to-market when the next iPhone firmware locks the phones up again.... keep the Dev Team on their toes Of course, I have nothing but respect for the dev team, but a bit of competition is always good for project timeliness

Think IPSF state that they will update their software with future iphone updates (if they can). that been said i think it means that you can come again and again and unlock your phone. So i dont think the licences can be resold nor do i think they can be changed.... well if they are unused the reseller can just go in and change it saying the buyer gave him an incorrect number and it was not used and he wants it corrected. so bu theory they should be able to fix it.

    Thumbs up

Here a thumbs up for Angus from me. I purchased a licence but never used it, I upgraded to 1.1 after reading on the forums how IPSF survived it. I tried allsorts to unlock with ISPF, with the help from Angus, even downgraded the baseband but still no luck.
I eventually managed to unlock it with AnySIM 1.1. I contacted Angus who immediately gave me the refund, and noticed on the server that my IMEI had actually had a count of 1, so, meaning it had actually unlocked it according to ISPF ??

I still got the refund, and he told me that I could still use the ISPF after any updates to the SW they might bring out,

    So, nice one to Angus

That was Angus of aussi*****unlock.com that said that about reselling a licence you had paid for via paypal.

He was also sending out emails threatening legal action against anyone who claimed there money back from paypal after not being issued licences.
