Any kind soul willing to work on a hack to fix VM Notification? (show your support)
It is recently discovered that VM notification does not work for 1.1.1 for most unlocked phones outside of US. It is also confirmed that the reason it broke is because the firmware to handle the notification is removed. Therefore the fix should be relatively easy for hackers. Please anyone willing to work on it?
Please reply if you support this effort.

Voicemail itself doesn't work? Or just the notification? So you can't press the voicemail button and get taken to your voicemail, or you don't get a red dot to indicate that voicemail is waiting for you?
Voicemail should be working - you should be able to click on the voicemail button and it should dial your voicemail account. The notification issue seems to vary by carrier with a few working - which carrier do you use?

sorry you are correct the voicemail works only the notification that doesnt. But vm isn't useable at all without notification. I use rogers from Canada

I also use version 1.1.1 with Rogers in Canada and do not get any new VM notifications. I can dial into my voicemail by pushing the VM button, but for example if I come up off the subway I will not know if I have a VM without checking it.
Interesting to note though, if I leave myself a voicemail and turn off the phone and turn it back on, then I get the little red dot, and if I check and delete that VM, the red dot disappears. So just need to find someone who can get the dot to appear when a new VM comes in...any help would be appreciated!

wait so are you saying that whenever you reboot the phone it reads the notification correctly? Just not when it arrives?

Yes that is correct. No red dot if I get a new VM while my phone is on, only one when I reboot if I actually have a new VM waiting.

More info for the willing soul
I found out that in addition to checking and correctly showing the red dot (if there's a VM waiting) upon reboot, it also works if you go and disable/enable Edge using Services app. This info might help - please others on Rogers test and confirm/reject.

I get notification, even if its on ''sleep'' mode, like SMS notification... and I can also hear...
PS: Operator: Brazil, TIM... unlocked via anySIM 1.1
