Default Another iPhone battery issue...with a twist!

    Hi guys,

I'm sure everyone knows about the problem by now where the iPhones battery runs out then it just wont charge? Well I got that problem happen to me. The battery died, I charged it for over a day and it still just shows me that "battery critically low" screen. I've had my iPhone for about 2 years now, and its just the standard 3g type and I've not had this problem before. Also because its been so long the warranty and insurance are long gone, and its full of pictures that I don't have backed up and don't want to loose either.

If I try and google it all the forums are filled with the same boofhead who fixed his problem by using an iPhone dock and resetting his PC while it was plugged in. I have tried charging it through both the plug and through the computer but it made no difference. Hard resets, yada yada blah blah nothing worked. Thinking that the battery in my phone had officially run its race and shit itself, I ordered a new one off Amazon. The company who sell through them are called Jazooli, and I was able to order a new battery with the tools to change it for less than 5. After following a diagram on how to change it over, having large hands and filling an afternoon full of profanities, I finally got it in and all back together and working!

After swearing to myself that I would not be doing that again, the battery worked great! I was able to fill a 12 hour shift with music with a bit of charging on my breaks, it lasted all night! It was fantastic! Until last night however...

Discovering this morning that my phone ran out of battery at some point, I put it on charge and went out thinking "it will be charged by the time I get back for sure". It seems that with my brand new battery, just 2 days later I have the same problem again already! What the hell is going on there? Is the entire phone on its way out? This shouldn''t happen with a brand new battery should it? Any suggestions?

not the battery. it should be the dock port. where you put in the cord to charge. you can buy one on amazon pretty cheap and that solved my problem on my 3G when i had one. they break and get messed up very easily. hope this helps

As Fr0z0n says, it's most likely either a bad dock connector or cable, or a bad connection internally from the dock connector to the charging circuit. It's most commonly the dock connector, as Fr0z0n mentions, this is a very common place to experience problems. They're fairly non-resilient connectors, so it's easy to jam a cable in too hard and bend pins or mess the connection up so that you don't get the battery to charge, but still show the phone as 'plugged in'.
