Thumbs up All working on Vodafone New Zealand (except for Voicemail notification etc.)

I did the Harro free software unlock at 2am this morning and everything is all go on Vodafone in New Zealand. Calls in/out, TXT in/out - haven't input the EDGE settings yet as it'll be like $500 a month if I start using data.

Only thing that's not working as it should is the receiving of operator TXTs - specifically the Voicemail TXTs that let me know when someone's left a voice message. Has there been any progress made on this? I know it's a problem everyone is having.

Just wanna say thanks to the Dev Team for all their hard work, thanks to Trash for going into battle with IPSF and risking his own cash (I bought a licence off him but received the free app before IPSF added me to their servers - no biggie) and thanks to everyone on these forums, I've learnt a huge amount about phones over the past couple of months.

I'm on Vodafone NZ, I hardware unlocked back when that was first released and I don't get the notification SMS from Vodafone either.

GPRS works, its as easy as putting in the APN. But $10 a meg isn't so fun.

What happens when you push the voicemail button? Out of the box mine did nothing, till I messed with the baseband to manually set the voicemail access no. Still no notifications or WhoCalled SMS.

Same here in the UK, is there anyway to get Voicemail or SMS mail notification of missed calls?

    Thanks

I think the world is still waiting on a solution for the Voicemail and operator SMS (WhoCalled etc.) - it seems to be an error/bug with the iPhone itself rather than anything to do with the operator.

I wonder if one were to call Vodafone and explain the situation, would there be a way for them to change a network setting so that TXTs from them come through as numbers not names (so '707' for me instead of 'Voicemail' or whatever it normally is).

I've had a turbo sim unlocked iphone in NZ for a while and like you guys I don't get the "who called" notifications either. However I did the software unlock last night for a friends iphone and he DOES get the vodafone text notifications.

I wonder if it's related to the version of vodafone sim card because my friends sim is ancient (pre 2000) whereas my vodafone sim is only a year old.

I'll do the software unlock on my iphone tonight and see if I get notifications.

Anyone wanna buy a turbo sim? hahahahaa

Great piece of advice really grateful, made my VM button work no probs, on vodafone uk, where the num is 121, also for anyone one vodafone uk you can set in your VM setting, when you dial 121, messages for immedaite delivery this way your voicemail phones you every so ofter, the missed call will come up on the phone button, abit like visual vm, not bad!

Thanks mjaste! I've added this info to the dev wiki (see http://iphone.fiveforty.net/wiki/ind...icemail_Button)

I first did this on my hardware unlocked phone., and it worked fine..

Make sure there are no spaces or anything extra in the AT command.

    what does AT+CSVM=? output?
