All my iPhone problems are now solved.....
Backstory:
2 T-Mobile iPhones (StealthSIM) were working great, wife's stopped working but her StealthSIM and SIM worked fine in my phone, didn't see any other option but to sign up for AT&T to get the phone exchanged... got it exchanged and kept using AT&T for 30 days to see what they were about....
Story:
Since switching to AT&T I have had 1 to 4 dropped calls every day except on days I hardly used it. Data was incredibly slow. Bluetooth was *VERY* glitchy, it would cut in and out as if I was going to lose the call, and would have to switch to handset to correct this.
Solution:
Believe it or not (and you should if you know anything about AT&T) I used ZiPhone on both of our iPhones, switched back to T-Mobile, (no more StealthSIM), and haven't had a SINGLE problem since. Bluetooth issues gone, data is fast again, no more dropped calls!!
T-MOBILE RULES!!!
AT&T needs the Verizon guy to start checking their network. "Can you hear me now? What? Did you say something? I'm having a hard time hearing you......"

All is well, but I doubt the BT issue has anything to do with the network.... if anything, maybe you were biased against ATT from the start, which made you blame some BT issues on it?
Or maybe it wasnt anything to do with bluetooth, and was just calls being dropped???
I dont doubt ATT has worse service in your area, but the fact that you say BT was worse kinda discredits your post... it is like saying "Texaco gas sucks, my wipers dont work as well as when I refueled on Shell fuel"...

he means his bluetooth headset was glitching, which actually translates to "the call itself was glitchy and i was hearing the glitching in my bluetooth headset" ....
really had nothing to do with the bluetooth it was just crappy call service.

Say what you will, but I swear that the BT problem is gone, same phone and everything. I did notice that when I had AT&T it seemed like their "silence threshold" was lower or something, if that's even the right term. It seemed like if the other person wasn't talking I heard complete silence, instead of the background noise on the other end of the phone.
What I'm saying, is that the BT issue was real, and it didn't happen with T-Mobile for some reason. I believe it may have something to do with some sort of threshold for silence or background noise but I have NO idea.
I don't know what to say about worse or better service in my area, I'm in Minneapolis (not near, IN). I'm sure everyone has great coverage, but that doesn't explain the dropped calls on AT&T and not on T-Mobile.

And, for the record.....
No, I don't like AT&T, they are overpriced and IMO their network isn't as good as Sprint or T-Mobile.....
Being the biggest doesn't always mean you're the best....

The silence you hear when the other person is not talking is called discontinuous transmission, and it is a feature of the gsm equipment. When the other person is not talking the phone doesnt transmit any voice frames which means less interference on the network. T-Mobile could be just as silent, but studies found that people kept asking "Are you still there?" So now T-Mobile inserts fake background noise when the other person stops talking.

hmmm you say "Bluetooth was *VERY* glitchy, it would cut in and out as if I was going to lose the call, and would have to switch to handset to correct this." which is not the same as you said on the subsequent posts...
if it is the "silence threshold" then it would be present on the handset too, no?
I still think your reception is better, your BT problem was just a figment of your imagination, perfectly justifiable by having crappy reception most of the time...

How did they know people were asking that? US Patriot Act at its best? LOL

Whatever you say, believe what you must, but switching to handset seemed to correct the problem most of the time.

Now THIS IS INTERESTING.
