restart the computer and change the usb port in which you have the phone plugged in and it will work again.

I had numerous errors 1602 and 1604 when i tried to upgrade to 1.1.2 from a stock unmodified att iphone running 1.0.2.

Heres what I did that finally worked, but it took MANY attempts, using Winxp.
I uninstalled itunes, created a new admin account in windows, logged in to it, installed itunes. Attempted to upgrade, failed, which left the phone in the connect to itunes screen, restarted itunes, did the restore, failed, but once i got the phone to display the blank dark screen, itunes finally restored and upgraded the iphone.

What really gets me upset about the whole thing is, this phone was unmodified, injail, and very much standard in what apple and att expects. And it was one of the most difficult, problematic and time consuming upgrades I have had to do.

This is just what I did, and it finally worked, not meant to be a guide.

The Main Key is restart your computer then open itune then press reset + home ( iphone ) key together until you hear beep ( around 10 seconds ) and then release reset key, continue to press home key til hearing the other beep then release home key. from now you can restore from itune

i have the exact same problem when trying to downgrade to anything below 1.1.1 (ie, 1.0.2)

waiting for iphone for forever and that's it.

this is very bad as it nuliffies many tutorials on how to flash or restore to get sim working again as you can't go to 1.0.2 (and therefore cannot use iNdependence)

I understand that it is recover mode, for my case iTunes connect to iPhone with

recover mode (press reset + home)no problem and start to retore from any verson

of frimware when i click on restore then iPhone will from black screen change to

an apple logo, normally should have a loading icon appear near by Home button,

I was try for many times it always keep on apple logo without any loading icon and

iTunes shows the same message as " Waiting for iPhone" after that will show an

error message with (error 1604), this make me crazy! would some one please help me?
