Discuss [All Firmware] Restoring Problem at the General - Hackint0sh.org; Still without any solutions to fix the problem
Still without any solutions to fix the problem
My solution for the same problem:
Restore to 1.1.2
Restore to 1.1.1
Restore to 1.0.2
Downgrade baseband (from 1.1.2 to 1.0.2)
Restore to 1.1.1 (not update)
Ender DFU Mode in iNdependence (show folder with unpacked 1.1.1)
Restore to 1.0.2 (1013 error is OK)
Activate and install SSH
Pre 1.1.1 Update
Update to 1.1.1
Activate and install SSH
Install anySIM 1.2 and unlock
Shout down IPhone
Turn on iPhone, provide your PIN and be happy
Exactly the same steps work for me

I have the same problem.
I switched on my brandnew iphone for the first time an it froze.
So I thought I repair the Firmware.
I tried getting any Software on my iPhone.
1.1.1 ended up with error 1611
1.0.2 ended up with error 1
1.1.2 ended up with error -50
But nothing worked and I always end up in recovery-mode withe the itunes-logo and the white cable. Then I tried:
Now I would like to send it to Apple but an afraid they will charge me, because i tried the hcking-tools. But it was never activated, unlocked or jailbreaked. What can I do?
When you downgrade from 1.1.2 to 1.1.1, you'll get an error. It's okay as long as it happens after the restore goes full, and not before it even takes place. You then need to use iphuc.exe and get the phone out of restore mode. The old AppTap will also do this for you. Search around for the iphuc commands.
When I tried to downgrade to 1.0.2, I would also get the error 1, but before teh restore even took place. What you have to do is put it into the DFU mode, which is a little different than the standard restore mode. Look at a clock while you do this. Hold sleep and home for exactly 10 seconds, then let go of sleep, and hold home for exactly 10 seconds. This allowed me to restore to 1.0.2.
iDemocracy 2 is helpful in that it includes a lot of useful applications in it. I didn't use iDemocracy, just the apps that came in the folder.
Here's the iphuc commands to get out of restore mode:
cmd setenv auto-boot true
If this doesn't work for you. Try using the old AppTap installer exe and select firmware 1.0.2. It works even if you have 1.1.1.
Good luck! I was in the same boat over the weekend, so I know how you feel.
Isn't that the same way how iNdependence kicks you out of the recovery mode?
Because out of this mode my iphone freezes evertime I slide to unlock!
I'm not sure about iNdependence, because I use a PC, but you might be right.
I'd try it anyway to see if it works any differently. Also, when I did the process, I ran into a few times where it wouldn't let me get out of the restore mode, and I used my laptop to do the same iphuc process to get out of it. It could be a USB problem. Otherwise, try holding home + sleep again, then let go of sleep, each for 10 seconds. I remember having a problem a few times with the iphuc commands not letting me out of the restore mode, but I kept switching between my desktop and laptop and I eventually got out of it.
Hope some of that helps.
I googled the 1604 error and found this:
"If you've received the 1604 error, you would have already downloaded the iPhone 1.1.1 update. There should be a 150Mb file in the iPhone Software Updates folder that contains the update."
"Open up Windows Explorer and navigate to the following directory.C:\Documents and Settings\**YOUR USERNAME HERE**\Application Data\Apple Computer\iTunes\iPhone Software Updates."
Perhaps try deleting the update from there and re-download it.
I had the same problem, spent ages trying to figure it out. mine is a otb 1.1.2 UK
whenever I tried to downgrade to 1.1.1 I got error (6) and subsequent attempts to downgrade to 1.0.2 and then back to 1.1.2 did nothing, at 2am on Sat I thought I'd bricked it!
all I did was restore to 1.1.1 using vista, which gave me a 1015 error and then ibrickr gave me a red screen, same itunes version 7.4.something, the only other difference was that I used usb1 as opposed to usb2.
hope this helps.
i think we r in the same prob.....i send my iphone to my US friend (november). he went to apple store and the shopkeeper said
