Default After All Events Unlocking 3GS 3.1.3

    Hi,

I've been following dev-team and geohot's page since 28th of February. I am one of the 3.1.3 owners. So I was very hopeful that 3rd of April was gonna be the date i meet my phone again. But sadly not. Now I decided to sell my phone. But once I sell it then a tool releases I kill myself. (joke ofcourse) So I wanna learn that if we are waiting for something to take our tools or something else. And the important part is if theese things have a CERTAIN date.

    Thx

This question has been asked a billion times -- next time please search before posting.

    1) There is (as you are aware) no publicly available exploit available for the 3.1.3 firmware or the 05.11.07 baseband.
    2) There is no news on when the jailbreak or unlock will be released for either the 3.1.3 firmware or the 05.11.07 baseband.

The reason for this is simple. The dev team has absolutely nothing to gain by publicizing an exploit in 3.1.3. The 3.1.3 firmware provides little to no benefit over the 3.1.2 firmware and was released partially to close security holes from 3.1.2 that the jailbreak community exploits. To ensure that the next jailbreak and unlock exploit can impact the highest number of users, the people responsible will likely wait until the next hardware revisions are released (e.g., July of this year, perhaps)

With that said, there is no date to provide. It is expected that the 4.0 OS will be vulnerable to an exploit that the 3.1.3 OS is vulnerable to (so long as the exploit isn't published before 4.0 is finalized). If that is the case, a jailbreak could be expected soon after the launch of the new hardware that comes with the 4.0 OS. If Apple somehow finds this exploit and plugs it, it could be weeks or months after the 4.0 OS is released before an exploit is found.

No reason to keep this thread open as this topic has been discussed to death in these forums, closing.
