    Default [Advice] Ziphoned > iPhone return problem, Am I screwed ?

    Ok, I got a refurb iphone from Apple about 2 weeks ago. For some reason, the phone I got was unlocked so I didnt have to do it. All I had to do was activate it with ziphone. Now, the phones having touchscreen and camera problems ... I tried going to the apple store, but they are not attending to me. They said I need a att account, but how am I supposed to have one, if the ipgones "slide for activation" is stuck on that.

    What can I do about this ?

    First thing - check your receipt! You may have 14-30 days for a refund or exchange due to it being faulty.

    Make sure it is restored to 1.1.4 and as new - no hacks. Don't worry bout the unlock as if its not activated they won't know - and you can always claim it came like that because it is a refurb from AT&T.

    If its within the time period then I would go back to AT&T and tell them it is a gift - you opened it to activate it but the touchscreen won't work.

    DO NOT MENTION THE CAMERA! as you can't know about that unless you hacked it!

    They will hopefully replace it for you or offer you a refund.

    You can use the same excuse with Apple that it is a present and you saw the screen wasn't responding and you want it swapped.

    I would suggest you try a different Apple store.

    Of course the last solution is - Sign up for a contract then get it swapped and then cancel the contract.

    I am sure you have a certain number of days to cancel if you wish so it won't cost you anything and you can get it swapped - use someone elses card if you can't get a contract.

    Those are your options!
    iPhone US 8GB

    iPhone UK 16GB
    FW 1.1.3 OOB --> 1.1.4 --> iPlus 1.2 unlocked!

    Yeah I am going to call apple tomorrow and use that excuse so I will try it. I will try to talk to a supervisor who will listen to me too.

    Don't call them - go to an Apple store.

    In my opinion the less apple know about you the better so they don't seriously check your phone out!

    Check your receipt as well! It may make your life even easier.
