Well I've been wondering what the official name of the operating system is...?

Steve called it OS X, which is not really Mac OS X but an inspired version for Mobile Devices.

In the system itself you can strings calling it iPhone OS.

The PR name is Mobile OSX.

The actual name was first AspenOS, but then for some reason Apple decided to change it to iPhoneOS. Yes, even the iTouch firmware is callled iPhoneOS.
