First I'd say don't bother with the iPhone if your not going I unlock it, it useless with out all the extra apps
the camera is worse than my v3x razer, it is abismal on the iphone
if you have big fingers it will be a nightmare
warranty and returns are much more difficult when unlocked
no 3g something to think about if you live in the city
no gps like the n95
No effective Bluetooth
Don't plug it into alot of iPod accessories cause it might fryChristmas and new yearmessages have to be rewritten for each contact
no flash
no removable battery which bite you in a few months
poor sound via the headphone out if you have good headphones
no rxpandable memory
external speaker is not that great compared to most other phones
every new firmware update requires alot of time and can cause you a headache if it goes wrong!
But its your choice

dell xps m1710 laptop its really pretty
core 2 duo t7600G @ 2.83ghz
4gb ram

i use N95, this phone crash, hangs-up, stack and glitching or watever. the only good thing i like is the camera 5 MP. (the other features for N95 can also be installed on other lower nokia phones like 6680 or 6600...so there nothing new here just the camera...)
For iphone, i love this phone base on experience. because if you know how to use the capabilities and 3rd apps and widgets, you will say exactly what i feel also. wohooo. (bad thing only for me is the camera..)

i realy depends on what u need it for: The benefits of the N95 is a way better camera, in fact, i dont get why apple was unable do insert a good cam. I dont need 5 megapixel, 2 are enough for me, but for gods sake, it should be 2 good megapixels, even the 0,3 mpixel cam of my Nokia 6230 five years ago made better pictures then the iphone cam.
Also, die N95 offers 3G with HSDPA & HSUPA, so its way faster for browsing or just use it with your notebook.
On the other side, iphone has its great usability which make all the missing features more or less unimportant. There is just no comparism for surfing with mobile safari, i never had so much fun surfing the mobile web. And i realy love the BSD system cause it makes it to a real open source phone for me... yesterday i had some time and installed an apache webserver with PHP support and added a php picture gallery with upload interface, accessable over any webrowser.
So if youre going to use all the possibilitys an iphone grants you, its the right choine

If you're not into *nix and programming, I'd say it's not obvious you will like administering iPhone. That said, you should play with 3rd party apps - if you find yourself hooked, that's it; if you don't, the phone specs of iPhone won't warrant buying it as just a phone imho.

I'm a long time Windows Mobile user (admin of 2 major PPC sites) and I was in the same boat as you are right now. Specs wise there are far better phones than the iPhone. But the iPhone user experience is second to none. Also, the iPhone has a very versitile OS and very good CPU/GPU power. An otb iPhone without any 3rd party apps is not that impressive. But a jailbroken iPhone has tremendous potential especially with the SDK coming soon. So I decided to go the iPhone way.

It really comes down to what YOU will be using the phone for.
I think this will sum it up pretty well:
If you are looking for a phone to BROWSE THE INTERNET WITH and are willing to "jailbreak" and make the most of the iphone using 3rd party apps, go for the iphone.
About 90% of all my "gripes" about the iphone have been fixed using 3rd party applications.
------------------------------
If you want a phone that does more OUT OF THE BOX and won't be using it to browse the internet as much, i'd actually go for the Nokia N82 instead of the N95, but if N95 is what's available to you than go for the N95.
Hopefully that will help.

sorry I'm an apple geek!

well i would go for the nokia. The Iphone is not a true phone half essential features are missing like mms,txt forwarding ect. why call it an iphone when clearly its just a souped up ipod. if you release a product to be a phone why bother releasing it with half the features missing!! answer because apple developers are clearly so stupid they cant do their job properly. tHE GOOD POINT ABOUT THE IPHONE IS WHEN ITS UNLOCKED all the nice apps that can be installed that to me is the main feaure. I have never been a fan of apple as they are over priced drop the prices and maybe apple can give microsoft a genuine run for their money.
