My girlfriend's iphone from yesterdy evening have some many problems...one for all INSTALLER DOES NOT WORK!
In september i unlocked this iphone with hardware unlock...and i don't know how i can upgrade now....when i've upgraded MY phone to 1.1.1 (same previous unlock) i viginized with a package on i.unlock.no...now the big question:
HOW CAN UPGRADE my girlfriend's phone to 1.1.4 without virginizer?????

please help me and sorry for my italian-english

Go to iclarified, and go under tutorials, and pick which method u want to follow. Since back then, they have developed programs to fully unlock without the need of opening your fone.

I used winpwn, and am very happy with it. But u can also use ilibertyx. Virginizing manually, using winscp and putty, is a thing of the past. All u need to do is upgrade to 1.1.4, then follow the tutorial for either winpwn or iliberty+ from iclarified. Also, there is a now a program called bootneuter, which allows the flashing of the baseband right from the fone ! (thanks DEV team!). GOod luck, it is very easy if u just use iliberty to upgrade.

as long as you have already virginized after the HW unlock, no.

I recommend using something like pwnagetool (note that pwning only works on 1.0.2 and above)

But don't select "unlock" in whatever you use to jailbreak and activate. To unlock, have your jailbroken and activated 1.1.4, set "auto lock" to "never," open installer.app and install "BootNeuter." from there open bootneuter, and check the following settings:

BOOTLOADER: 3.9
NEUTER:ON
FAKEBLANK: OFF
UNLOCK: ON

and then press the red flash button in the top right corner.

Then u are done!!!

why can't you Virginize it? Normally you would just install "the virginizor" from the i.unlock.no installer source

ok hmm there is a manual virginizor... But that's pretty complicated.

i am having the same problem.
i have a 1.1.1 phone that i need updated to 1.1.4
itunes will not update it, 1603/1604 error.

i tried to add i.unlock.no but it wont show up in the installer

i tried to just erase the baseband and start from scratch but i get a ton of different errors..

i got it working with 1.1.1 with the 1.1.4 baseband but its still not 1.1.4
